Function over fashion. Most things are repeatedly mended and patched. She prefers loose plaid jackets, band tees, tattered skinny jeans, and the like when it can be afforded. She strays away from black, often wearing grey, brown, olive, and navy shades. Her mother prefers her in dresses, which Romi doesn't mind, but they wear more quickly and so are often reserved only for when she's at home.

Wary. Brash. Headstrong. Romi doesn't trust you, and she doesn't expect you to trust her either. Slow to warm up to most anyone, she has a foul mouth and an irreverence for order and respect. While she can act her ass off to save her hide, she won't mean a word she says. Beneath all those walls, moats, and spikes however is a young woman who would do anything for her family, and is willing to be the back they step on to climb out of the gutter.

Mother Marina - Alive Father Andre - Deceased Romi's aunts and uncles and various cousins also live in the Drench, but her direct family consists solely of her mother.

Her mother Marina runs a small shop in the Drench supplying bread and other basic baked goods. Nothing fancy of course, but necessary enough to provide them just enough to scrape by on for profit and scraps. Romi helps prepare, knead, and bake early in the mornings, but is otherwise left to her own devices.

The only child her parents could afford, Romi's father was killed early on for running information against the Plates. Her mother was devastated, and ran herself into the ground trying to raise Romi alone. A painfully tired optimist, Romi's mother was the heart in their family, and after losing the brain of the operation she found it difficult to stay afloat even by Drencher levels. While Romi's extended family helped where they could, Romi soon learned such compassion was rare and often only weakened those who extended it. She grew up as fast as possible in mind if not body to take over their finances and the caring of her mother. Despising the Plates and all those who abandoned the Drench behind to stand in the sun, Romi hides from her mother the fact that she is beginning to run in her father's shoes. Whatever it takes to get them out, or bring the Plates down on top of them.
