When Tevinter heard word that a powerful mage might destroy the Veil;
upheave the Fade, they feared for their magics... and so, a barrier
spell was crafted — and a new way of life came to be. It was not
uncommon before the barrier to call Tevinter a dictatorship, but with
the arrival of earth and magic to keep the Tevene people in and all of
Thedas out... that only became worse. From 9:44 Dragon until 9:50
Dragon, the Tevinter people have been locked behind a barrier, living
under a military regime that favored mages and used non-mages in menial
labor and the military.
But the barrier is gone now, and so is the Black Divine...
Things are starting to change.
