Zola's heart is a battlefield between altruism and selfish cowardice and unfortunately it's the latter that seems to be winning out as of late. Though she has a genuine affection for people she was too easily discouraged by the dark places she grew up in the believe there is any hope of real change and too afraid of failure to try. She wants better for everyone, sure, but if that's unattainable she'll grasp at better for herself and try to sleep at night.

None Living

The Missing Person posters appeared in the Chokes in the middle of Kivan, 1244. Tala Mcphear, 30, 5’6”, light brown hair, blue eyes. Last seen leaving work at the neighborhood clinic. There wasn’t much fuss beyond that. No follow up, no real investigation. The only family that would have pushed for one being an elderly Aunt Maggs who’d shuffled off this mortal coil two years before. Her co-workers at the clinic never told the authorities about the missing paperwork, or the unregistered supplies that Tala had started bringing in in the months leading up to her disappearance. It wasn’t worth the risk. The folks in the neighborhood thought it was sad–that Tala was such a nice girl, they said–but Tala Mcphear had been the kind that everybody knew but no one really knew well. Just another soul lost to the dark of the Drench. This of course being completely unrelated to the return of Zolara Ninree and the opening of her small store on KS-PO4. If you ask her, she was born on the plates. If you ask her, she spent much of her childhood traveling with her parents, that’s how she studied “ancient” herbalism in Stistun and Palladol. If you ask her, she definitely does not have a connection to house Koselik and certainly no debts to anyone.
