Of The Season
Quote
"Tell Dr. Nate that Gale sent you, and he still owes me for the mushrooms. Except that it takes you a while to reach the clinic, and by the time you do your fever is spiking, and so instead of the requisite message you instead tell the poor soul who greets you that 'A gale'a m'shrooms sent me cus'a my hands.'" - Zephyr in Oh help me, please doctor, I'm damaged
Seeing how bad luck he had had so far this season, Cian did not have too high hopes as he steps up towards the wheel and awaits his turn. Either he will have continued bad luck and not win anything, or he had used up all his bad luck for now and he will land on a prize.
That is probably now how luck works, but who knows! Maybe all the negative would turn into a positive. So, while quietly praying to which ever Saint that might feel like handing out some luck, Cian takes hold and gives the wheel a spin.

Surprise lingers on the face of the man who sits on the trunk – wondering why it was Sigfried didn’t choose to spin again, but he waves his hand about it regardless because a newcomer shows up. Stepping up to the wheel, Cian will find the man’s eyes on him, a quick little blurt of how it worked, and once the man’s spun the wheel it begins to click and click and click…
Only to land on the very same little triangle that Sigfried’s had landed on, with bright white letters within that seem to shout Spin Again! Hoping that the text is enough to get the point across, the man waits for Cian to spin again.
Cian stars at the wheel as it starts going round round. His eyes following the part showing the bigger prize. After a few fast turns, he is forced to keep his eyes still on the arrow that will be showing the result. All the spinning makes his head as dizzy as the House of Mirrors did.
The wheel slows down bit by bit, and Cian's hope for the big price sinks bit by bit as it moves past and then stops. The white Spin Again! stares at him and probably gives him a false sense of hope. None the less, he does feel a little bit of hope over the chance to go again and does just that. He sets the wheel spinning and goes back to staring at the clicking arrow.

As Cian spins the wheel again, the man sitting on the trunk seems more intrigued – something about the clicking of the wheel as it goes around and around seems different this time. But perhaps it’s just a trick of the sounds of the Core, because as the wheel starts to slow, it passes by that big prize three times before landing on yet another spin again wedge. ”Y’got one more round t’go, kid.” Comes his voice, watching Cian with curious eyes. Would the third time be the charm?
The staring does not help. Well, it helped a little as the wheel stops on Spin Again. Cian fight with feeling hopeful and admitting defeat, even if it was not over quite yet. He gives the man tending to the game a brief glance, then reaches out and sets the wheel in motion once more.
"Come on..." He mumbles under his breath and goes back to staring at the clicking arrow. Third time was not always the charm, but he really hoped it is this time. He sure could use a boost in these troubled times. Even if the big price turns out to be a huge plush animal or something. At least he could hug it for comfort.

The wheel spins once more, the old man still observing closely. After what seems like far too long, the clicks begin to slow down as the arrow slides gently over one segment, then the next, then the next...then, just for a moment, lingers on the tantalising prize...then clicks on. It finally comes to a stop a couple of steps further, on another 'spin again'.
"Well! Three's all ya get. Tough luck." The host says with a shrug, the tone of his voice certainly not sounding like he was all too sorry about it. "Enjoy the rest of the party, kid."
