The prelimary matches had finished and three victors had emerged. Now, in a more organised tournament, with rules and judges beyond a mysterious MC in a fabulous hat, there might have been another round before the final, to weed out the weakest among the three and be sure only the two best combatants fought.
But it was getting late, the audience wanted a big fight and there were no rules when it came to the Drench tournament.
They had ten minutes to recoup, drink some water, hear words of encouragement from friends and from those who'd put money on their chances. Then it was time to get back out into the ring.
"Ladies, Gentlemen, other fair people of the Drench. Are you ready-" The MC paused for effect as the three fighters emerged into the arena again. "For a final show down rumble!!!""
A horn sounded, a flag went down. Time to fight.

After Kyrie beat Mallorie, she had herself a little rest and, watching the other fights until they, too, came to an end. To a very surprising end. Arching a finely-scultped brow at the announcement of a three-way showdown, Kyrie, who has no one to cheer her on or offer words of support (shocker, they all shoot her dirty looks, it’s obvious she’s not a Drencher), instead contemplates her strategy. Best to keep everything on, she decides - shoe spikes, bladed knuckle rings, and the various knives.
When the horn sounds, she immediately turns to Ira and jerks her chin towards Nate. “We’ve got a better chance against each other if we take him down first,” she suggests, hoping the other woman will agree, purely based on their respective sizes. They’re far more evenly matched.
And hey, nothing is against the rules here, right? Two versus one makes things interesting.
The best defense is a good offense; otherwise, she figures she’s the target.
Hoping Ira will agree with her, Kyrie quickly darts towards Nate’s left and once again tries her signature move: dropping to the ground in an attempt to do a leg sweep and knock his feet out from underneath him.

Kyrie suggests to Ira that they team up against Nate. She tries to quickly dart to his left and do a leg sweep to knock him to the ground. She's still wearing her toe spikes.
She had expected to be out early in her first match and is finding herself surprisingly waiting for the last match to start. Some of the initial steam and anger had blown off, but she is in no way in a better mood than when she started, and there's no way she is going to back away from the last fight now either. She throws a quick glance at all the blades and spikes on Kyrie when the other woman turns to her and offers the suggestion to team up against Nate. Making out the Plater accent, Ira just raises a brow before Kyrie darts off and after giving Nate a look and a shrug, she follows.
However, she's got some kind of standard. Drench standard, or whatever one would like to call it. She'd much rather get beaten into the ground by either of them than team up with a Plater against a fellow Drencher. Against a more or less friend, as well. Even if it could just end up with taking down the Plater and then instantly get knocked out by Nate.
So when Kyrie drops down to sweep at Nate, Ira makes sure to keep the other woman between him and herself and takes a swing at Kyrie's back with her stave, before quickly withdrawing and will hopefully get out of reach just in case Nate decides to go for her.

Well this is surprising. It’s not that Nate hadn’t expected to win his first round, but he’d expected it to be a little bit harder. Billy had gone down like a sack of potatoes, and he hadn’t even broken a sweat. What he hadn’t been expecting was the three way finale.
Honestly, he feels pretty good about his chances.
Nate doesn’t move when the round starts, sturdy enough that he isn’t really worried about being thrown off by either of them approaching. A savage grin spreads over his face when he hears the obvious Plater’s words, his gaze not even bothering to flick to Ira. If he’s misjudged her then he can regret it later.
Instead, he braces himself for an attack, ready to counterattack if there’s an opening, but otherwise focusing on staying nimble.

She could have just said no, Kyrie thinks, as the staff comes down to one side of her. It was worth a shot, but clearly communication isn’t the Drencher’s strong suit.
But now that it’s two versus one, the Plater would much rather put some distance in between herself and the team - well, more precisely, herself and the big guy. She still thinks he's the bigger threat. Kyrie gathers herself and pops up from the ground like some kind of ninja jack-in-the-box, turning her focus to Ira. She’ll have to be quick to both avoid the stave and try to get out of Nate’s reach.
And yet she can’t really do both, soooo… the military woman darts forward, one arm up to block an incoming staff swing, while the other is thrust upward, twisting with focused energy from her torso and shoulder, only to come down in a swift, vicious downward strike aimed at Ira’s (everyone’s) vulnerable carotid artery, hoping to knock her out - or at least stun her.

Kyrie attacks Ira and uses one arm to block an incoming stave attack while the other hand goes for a neck chop at her carotid artery.

Sure, she could have said No, but then Kyrie might have been more prepared for an attack. Not that Ira's backstab plan had worked out very well anyway, but it had been worth a try as the Plater drops down to swipe at Nate and the attack with the stave misses its mark. She does however catch Kyrie's attention fully, which she had hoped would not happen so soon. She had hoped that the other woman would be tangled up with Nate for a while longer, but so it goes.
So she continues with her plan on keeping what distance she can and have the Plater between herself and Nate, though when Kyrie closes in fast, Ira thrusts one end of the stave forward towards her stomach before moving to dash to the side in an attempt to get away from the strike.

Well, that hurt a fuck of a lot more than he was expecting. Years of pain and a sharp, sudden breath keep Nate from making a sound, but don’t hide the way his face pinches and he stumbles back, folding to belatedly protect himself.
Thankfully he gets the chance to catch his breath, straightening again just in time to see the attempted swing against Ira. He doesn’t have time to stop it (honestly he doesn’t want to, the point is to win after all) but he tries to spoil it anyway. He likes his odds a lot better the longer this slugs out between three of them instead of just two.
One big step carry’s him closer, an arm reaching out to try and grab a fistful of the Plater’s hair and yank. Simple, dirty, and if he’s lucky at all, effective. The Drench way.
Nate takes a moment to catch his breath, then tries to grab Kyrie’s hair to disrupt her attack
Kyrie attempts to block Ira and attack with advantage. Her attack misses(even with advantage! Bad luck).
Ira pushes her stave into Kyries stomach and hits, but is parried. Her hit deals 8 damage, but 4 is negated. Kyrie takes 4 damage.
Nate chills out(and fails) then goes to grab Kyries hair. He is successful and pulls Kyrie over onto the floor - she must use one action of two next turn to get up.

Go big or go home, Kyrie always says, and when her big strike does absolutely jack shit, and she gets a staff butt to her gut and then goes flying back to the ground, the Plater can’t help but think that she’s definitely going to be going home soon. Oof. Two versus one feels untenable as she blinks stupidly up at her opponents, clearly a bit surprised at how that whole sequence turned out.
Years of Bravlet training prompt her to keep moving, and her body seems to react before her mind does. Kyrie tries to gain some leverage by curling up and quickly rolling into a backwards somersault, half as a surprise to the Drenchers, and half to get out of that current, enclosed situation. As she comes up into a squat, she's reaching for a knife tucked into her boots and brandishes it in an attempt to dissuade further attacks.
