Beneath KS-P01, this is the most closely guarded pumping station, not that it needs it. Burning air belches out of the vents slit along its surface, making it impossible to approach without extensive planning.

Due to the way the river flows, the core beneath KS-P02 is both most isolated and closest to the light. One side it built up, Drenchers taking advantage of the sturdy foundation and light shade, and the other is pitch black, nothing willingly living there. It’s said the enemies of the Monument Houses are dropped into the deep dark from the surface of the plate, their unfortunate bodies feeding whoever lurks in the dark.

KS-P03 sits lowest to ground, its edges dropping down and cutting off more light prematurely, shrouding much of the undercity in murky darkness. Coloured lanterns hang from invisible perches in the darkness, an unreliable guide through the pitch and thrum.

The first plate to have two reservoir pumps and therefore two cores, KS-04’s anterior is equipped with another unusual feature: lights. The bottom of the plate is studded with dozens of distant lights, false constellations keeping this area in a constant twilight.

Another two pump plate, the space beneath KS-P05 is much less hospitable. There are still lights, but they are scarce, scattered around the inside edges of the plate to extend the light, rather than provide its own. The dark between the two pumping stations is absolute and loud, the darkness seeming almost electric.
